Welcome back. We’ve missed you.
SPARK reopens on Friday 17th April, and we’re not easing in gently. We’ve got live DJs, close-up magic, world-class face paint, and a full weekend of free kids’ crafts, all under (hopefully) blue skies on Piccadilly.
Friday 17th April – from 5pm
Lift Your Feet (6-10pm) Roof off. Sun out (hopefully). SPARK’s reopening kicks off with Lift Your Feet – a DJ-driven party weaving jazz, soul, and eclectic club sounds into one gloriously joyful evening. Usually bouncing between the best venues in Leeds and York, they’re planting their decks firmly on the Piccadilly Tap terrace for this one. Expect wall-to-wall LYF classics, and soulful sunshine vibes.
Face Paint by FacePaintYork (5-7pm) Crowd favourite Alex is back, and she’s brought the full kit. Choose from Flower Crowns & Blossom Eye Designs, Ombre Swirls & Sparkles, Graphic Tribal, Festival Eyes, Rave Tiger/Leopard/Snake Prints – or just tell her what you’re feeling. She’ll make it work.
Tim Lichfield – Close-Up Magic (6-8pm) Multi-award winning magician and proud Member of The Magic Circle, Tim Lichfield is bringing world-class sleight of hand to the terrace. Whatever you think you saw… you didn’t.
Sunday 20th April – 12pm to 4pm
Kids’ Craft with Avocado Events (12-2pm) Specialists in making little ones very happy, Avocado Events are running free drop-in craft sessions all afternoon. Children can get stuck into decorating a wooden star wand, making fairy house doors, crafting woodland animal keyrings, designing a magical toadstool, creating paper plate flowers, and colouring to their heart’s content. All free, all fun.
Face Paint by FacePaintYork (2-4pm) Alex returns for the daytime session — same glorious face paint, slightly more fairies, probably.
