It’s a Wrap

19 - 21 December

10am - 6pm

It’s back – and bigger than ever!

It’s a Wrap is our annual festive fundraiser, where our volunteer elves wrap your presents in exchange for a donation to charity.

This year, we’re taking over the pop-up unit, so you can drop off your gifts, enjoy a pint or grab a bite to eat, then collect your beautifully wrapped presents on your way out.

All charities accept card payments, and it’s a brilliant way to support local causes this weekend. 🎁✨

About York Cares | Friday

York Cares is an independent employee-volunteering charity, which brings businesses, employees and communities together to make York a better place. They match the skills and expertise of employers and their employees to community projects where they can have most impact. Their tried and tested programmes deliver tangible benefits for local people as well as workforce development opportunities for employers.

Our city is facing many challenges and their employers work closely with City of York Council and York CVS to address community needs. By working collaboratively, York Cares employers make an effective and strategic investment to help those who need it most. Their inspirational employee-volunteers give over 10,000 hours of their own time each year to over 50 worthwhile community organisations and schools in some of York’s most disadvantaged areas.

About SASH | Saturday

SASH is a youth homelessness charity that works across North Yorkshire. They help young people aged 16-25 who are facing homelessness. The accommodation they offer is through their Nightstop and Supported Lodgings services, which rely on volunteer ‘hosts’ who offer a spare room in their own home.

Their services are as much about supporting young people to resolve the problems which have led to them becoming homeless as they are about putting a roof over their head. Part of this support is provided through their SASH Enhancement programme. Those they support are referred to SASH by Local Authorities and other partner agencies.

About Peasholme Charity | Sunday

Since 1988, Peasholme Charity has been at the heart of York’s response to poverty, homelessness, and social exclusion. They believe in working with individuals, not for them – providing guidance, support, and the tools they need to build more secure and independent lives. Whether someone is facing a short-term crisis or seeking longer-term support, they offer a space to be heard, advice that makes a difference, and help navigating systems that can often feel overwhelming.

Their goal is not to just give quick fixes, but to help people find lasting change, on their own terms, in their own time. They are proud to be a part of the community they serve – rooted in local knowledge, shaped by experience, and guided by compassion.
