Everyone’s welcome at SPARK – locals, tourists and dogs. You don’t need to book and we don’t take table reservations. Just drop by and say hi.
Find us in York city centre at 17-21 Piccadilly.
Entry is free.
The nearest car park to SPARK is the Coppergate Centre Car Park which is managed by the City of York Council – we’re a one minute walk from the centre.
York has six Park & Ride sites with the first bus departing about 5:30am, and last bus returning at about 22:30pm.
The nearest Park & Ride to SPARK is the Grimston Bar service, stopping directly outside the Coppergate Centre on Piccadilly.
There are also Park & Ride sites at Askham Bar, the York Designer Outlet, Monks Cross, Poppleton Bar, and Rawcliffe Bar. All use an entire fleet of electric buses, and bus fares including parking.
We have limited cycle parking inside of SPARK towards the rear of our venue, however there is public bike parking outside the venue on Merchantgate.
Numerous bus routes serve nearby bus stops, including:
Visiting York by train is super convenient – with SPARK a short 15 minute walk from the station. With trains by LNER, Northern, TransPennine Express, CrossCountry, and Grand Central, you’re able to visit SPARK from all parts of the country.
The front of York Station is currently being transformed to create a new and improved gateway to the city, so things may look a little different than previously.
As part of works to transform the area around York Station, the existing station long stay car park has been closed by Network Rail. This is to enable their contractor to build a new 630 space multi-storey car park.
Buses continue to serve the station.
All bus stops on the Station side have relocated from the portico to the new bus stands next to the station.
Journey times when heading to the station may be affected during the works. However, the City of York Council are doing everything they can to keep delays to a minimum. Residents and visitors are urged to plan ahead and allow more time for journeys on routes which may be busier than normal. There are some diversionary footpaths for pedestrians heading to the station.
