RAD Pizza Shop founder Alex Brinton and general manager Maria Dendia!

How did you get the idea for your business?

The idea for the business came from the love for pizza. We're really passionate about the making of the dough, and had lots of great ideas about menu items and were really keen on testing them out. There was an opportunity of opening a pizza place in Spark, so it was the perfect chance.

What's the first thing you did to bring that idea to life?

At the beginning, we spent a lot of time testing out dough recipes, trying to find the best combinations and this is how we came up with the final menu for RAD. Classic neapolitan pizzas, with amazing dough and fresh ingredients.

What's the best part of running your own business? What's the hardest?

Running a business can be very hard at some times. Everyone who runs their own business will understand that. But at the end of the day when you see people happy with what you offer to them, and little things like when they are coming back to tell you how much they enjoyed your pizza, that is the best feeling. You also get to meet people that share the same passion as you and that is incredible.

Now, for the hardest part of running a business, is that in order to make it successful and to reach the business at the level that you want, that will demand a lot of effort - of course many things can go wrong alongside and can hold you back.

What would you say to someone considering starting their own business?

For anyone thinking of opening their own business, I'd say just go for it. You will need to have a vision in your mind - it will not always go as planned. It will be a difficult journey, but you'll just need to enjoy the ride.
