Stephen Andrews launched Fish&Forest in March 2019, passionate to create a sustainably-focused restaurant in York, that served wild or ethically-farmed fish, locally-sourced game and wild food foraged in the Yorkshire countryside. Stephen is self-taught and is always inventive and innovative in how he comes up with new flavour and ingredient combinations. Fish&Forest was receiving bold acclaim within weeks of opening at SPARK and only a year later (right as the first lockdown hit), was given the keys to his first permanent spot at 110 Micklegate, York! He spent time fitting out the restaurant before opening to customers in July 2020. Stephen and his business partner, Yohan Barthelemy, have created one of York’s leading restaurants. Fish&Forest is now a MICHELIN guide restaurant, most notably acclaimed for its sustainable ethos and its ever-evolving menu. Stephen is always humble and incredibly dedicated to his art and the world is quite literally his oyster!
