“George Cares is a pop up supper club I’ve been running in York for just under a year. After rattling pans at some truly awesome spots in York I decided it was time to put what I have learnt to good use and cook food that I can take ownership of. the name describes the main jist, food I care about for people I care about.
Coming up in a variety of different kitchens and cuisines in and out of York my style of food combines a variety of cultures and influences from across the globe while still keeping a style that is modern and true to the food I love to eat. Every pop up I do ends up with a menu that most people describe as ‘mad’, so expect rich food and bold flavours because the worst thing a cook can do is hold back. This menu is a bit different to what I usually do, the previous George Cares have been sit down restraint services, this being the first pop up at Spark I’ve stepped a bit outside my comfort zone (but not too much) and designed a menu made for sharing over a good drink.
