Morning Ritual: Candlelight Sound & Gong Bath with Lauren Perkins

19 September

10:30–11:30 AM

BOOKING DETAILS COMING SOON | Saturday 19 September, 10:30–11:30 AM

Begin your weekend in the gentle glow of candlelight with an immersive morning sound and gong bath in York, created to help you slow down, reconnect and begin your day feeling grounded, refreshed and gently energised.

Join Lauren Perkins, founder of Cultivate Kindness Yoga, for a nourishing morning ritual combining sound, vibration, mindfulness and elements of yoga philosophy.

Surrounded by the warm glow of candlelight, Lauren will create an immersive soundscape using crystal sound bowls, Chinese wind gong and a variety of percussion instruments, creating layers of soothing sound and vibration to encourage relaxation, stillness and a meditative state.

As a morning experience, the session is carefully designed to balance deep relaxation with gentle energisation. You’ll leave feeling calm and grounded, while also refreshed, clear and ready for the day ahead.

You’ll be invited to lie comfortably on your mat, supported by blankets and bolsters, and simply allow yourself to be present. There is nothing to achieve and no previous experience of yoga, meditation or sound baths is required.

This is a chance to pause, breathe and reconnect — creating a little space between yourself and the busyness of everyday life.

Mats, blankets and bolsters are provided.

About Lauren

Lauren Perkins is the founder of Cultivate Kindness Yoga, a York-based yoga and wellbeing practice rooted in the belief that wellbeing encompasses the body, mind, heart and our connection with the world around us.

Her approach draws inspiration from yoga philosophy, Indian traditions, mindfulness, nature and the more spiritual aspects of yoga, while remaining welcoming and accessible to people from all backgrounds and levels of experience.

Lauren has a particular passion for creating spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves and experience a deeper sense of presence. Her work brings together movement, breath, meditation, sound and ritual to create nurturing and meaningful wellbeing experiences.

As a fully qualified sound therapist and experienced yoga teacher, Lauren regularly facilitates sound baths, gong baths, yoga and wellbeing experiences through Cultivate Kindness. She has built a growing community around her classes and events in York and has previously been featured in The York Press for her work making yoga and wellbeing more accessible within the local community.
