Jody Toner, an award-winning hair stylist and hairdresser, was a founding tenant at SPARK back in 2018. Jody decided to launch his first solo venture, Toner&Co, after 14 years of building up experience and working for other salons, while working as a regular stylist to models at London Fashion Week. Having won a string of awards, while always a finalist at the L’oreal Colour Trophy, he felt it was time to launch his own business for the first time. He transformed a 20ft shipping container into a stylish salon, and the business took off immediately. After a year at SPARK, Jody had the opportunity to take his business into its first permanent premises, 50 Gillygate, York, where he has been since 2019. In recent months, Jody has partnered with the Carecent charity in York and offers free haircuts for York’s homeless. He remains a good friend of SPARK and we are proud to have played a small part in his inspirational journey.
