Ciara O’Connor x ComedySoc Stand-up

27 February

7 - 10pm

This event is run in partnership with York Comedy Society and is ticketed through University of York’s Student Union. You will be taken to their website to purchase tickets, whether you are a student or a member of the public.

Ciara O’Connor will be joining the York Comedy Society for a night of stand up shenanigans, served up alongside student comics from around the UK.

Ciara O’Connor represents one of society’s most marginalised communities… girls who peaked in Year 9.

Having performed at venues such as The Clapham Grand, and with writing that has featured on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, O’Connor is an up-and-coming voice who ponders the big questions (why do we dedicate benches to dead people?).

In addition to performing as tour support for Kate Butch’s 2025 UK tour, O’Connor is in the process of writing her debut solo hour, with a streak of sold out work-in-progress shows across Manchester, Birmingham and London.

“A voice that we need to hear, her story is an important story… a really good joke writer” (Jen Brister)

“An absolute talent” (Sue Perkins)
