What our Best Bar None accreditation means

Creating a space where people feel welcome, safe, and looked after.

You might notice a small badge at the bottom of website saying Best Bar None. It’s not there as a trophy – it’s simply part of how we operate as a venue.

We’re accredited by Best Bar None, a national scheme that recognises licensed venues that focus on safety, responsible service, and good management. It’s used by pubs, bars, clubs, and other hospitality venues across the UK to help raise standards and create safer nights out for everyone.

We chose to take part because it reflects our standards, and it gives us a clear framework to keep improving.

So what is Best Bar None, exactly?

In simple terms, it’s an accreditation programme that works in partnership with venues, local authorities, and the police to promote responsible hospitality.

Venues are assessed against a set of criteria that covers things like:

  • staff training
  • age verification and responsible alcohol service
  • safety and security procedures
  • record keeping and risk management
  • how the venue looks after customers and the wider community

It’s not something you automatically receive though – you have to apply, go through the process and audits, and meet those standards consistently.

What that means for you when you visit us

For our guests, it’s nothing complicated or formal. It just means the basics are done properly.

It means:

  • staff who are trained and confident in what they’re doing
  • clear safety procedures behind the scenes
  • a respectful, well-managed environment
  • and a place you can feel comfortable spending time in

Most of it isn’t visible, and that’s kind of the point. When things are running well, you shouldn’t have to think about them at all. You should just be able to relax and enjoy yourself.

Why it matters to us

Hospitality is about more than serving drinks or food. It’s about creating a space where people feel welcome, safe, and looked after.

Being part of Best Bar None helps us stay accountable to that. It gives us a chance to review how we work, train our team, and make small improvements that add up over time.

Thanks for being part of it with us.
