It's the third branch of the Uncomfortable Cities organisation, which was founded in 2018 by doctoral students to address the complex legacies of the city and the University of Oxford first, and Cambridge next. Launched in June 2023, Uncomfortable York is the perfect introduction to the rich history of York, while going beyond traditional narratives to showcase stories of women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people of colour.
