Businesses with Heart

Many businesses develop corporate responsibility programmes once they are well-established. Proving that that all businesses, regardless of size or duration of service, can give something back to the wider community, 3 of our traders have been raising money for charity in the last month.

Once Across the Garden have been raising money for Syrian Relief. They have donated almost £300 from their vegan food stall since they started trading at Spark in May.

Meanwhile, The star barrel at Wine-on-Tap Bar BNHO from Liquid Liberation raises money for a different charity each month.

The very first local charitable organisation chosen to be receive the proceeds form the Star Tap is one of Spark's own, the wonderful York Nurturing Community - YNC, who cook up amazing food for marginalised folks in York from donations by supermarkets, on a pay as you feel basis. YNC also hold regular events at Spark aimed at reducing social isolation & encouraging community cohesion. We’re delighted to say the barrel raised £200!

Finally, Cocktail Bar 4Swings ran a promotion in conjunction with sexual health charity Mesmac to coincide with York Pride and raised £200 for the charity with their 'Safe sex on the Peach' cocktail.

Well done guys! And thanks to everyone who supports our businesses and in doing so supports their fundraising work!!
